BIO

I was introduced to Judo during my early schooling and in my late teens I briefly flirted with Taekwondo,

before bouncing around a number of Karate clubs over the course of several years as I moved around the country.

My martial arts journey was interrupted by life for a couple of decades until I had cause to seek an activity that had potential to complement other efforts I was making to support recovery from a physical injury. I was determined to re-engage with Karate and an experienced friend recommended Nishikan to me.

I entered the Nishikan Dojo with more than 5 years experience in martial arts, though putting ego aside and starting again as a white belt in early 2019 was undoubtedly the right decision for me. As my injury slowly turned to a distant memory and I engaged more fully with Karate training, my level of enjoyment only increased.

I discovered an abundance of knowledge and passion within Nishikan that is readily shared. I find that to be a part of Nishikan is to be part of an inspiring and supportive family.

Having been introduced to so many teachings and concepts since first walking into the Nishikan Dojo, I look forward to sharing my growing technical knowledge with others and I am excited at the prospect of what I might learn and experience in the future!
