Great team, very understanding people, great classes.

My daughter has been going to Nishikan for over two years now. Often over 3 times per week. For a neurodivergent kid with complex needs karate has been her heaven. As parents we notice the difference when we can't take her there often enough. The classes are inclusive and help her with her emotional and physical development. She has improved on impulsivity, self regulation, understanding of herself and others. Because of Nishikan she can calm down quicker and she believes in herself more. I fully credit Paul's ability to adapt the lessons, his kindness with her limitations without underestimating her capacity and always scaffolding her challenges for a positive experience. Nishikan has been more than karate lessons for our daughter, it's been crucial for her development and our family life.

My son join nishikan as he confidence was very low and was being bullied a lot, since joining his confidence has soared and has been able to move past the bullying. Mostly he loves attending his classes and is always talking about what he has learned. He is always working hard to get his next belt. The instructors/sensei are very professional, would recommend to anyone looking to progress within this area.

Training at Nishikan is like gaining a second family. Everyone is warm, welcoming and supportive. From starting at a white belt, all the way up though the grades, the club helps and support you to grow and be better every step of the way. Highly recommended for your child, or for yourself.

I joined Nishikan in February this year as a mature student with zero experience. I was sceptical at first but it's been an amazing journey. The Sensei, instructors and fellow students have been so supportive, fun and a pleasure to get to know and work with. So if you want to try something new regardless of ability come along and give it a go, I did and have not looked back — a real sense of belonging and with hard work and commitment you can achieve anything.

My son really loves it here. We have struggled to find a place that was sensitive to kids needs but also disciplined and my son immediately loved it. He responded really well to the instructor who really straddles the line of kindness and reverence to the form. It's relaxed and fun. It's an amazing price and flexible enough that it works around busy lives. I cannot recommend it enough.

My son has been attending Nishikan for 3 years and gets so much from learning karate. There is a wide range of sessions available, and teachers are supportive and encouraging. It is great for fitness, balance, coordination and discipline, in a collegiate environment.

My daughter started with Paul when she was 5, she is now 14.5 and after working hard, and sometimes not wanting to go like kids do, she is a black belt 1st Dan. And very proud parents, she is committed and loves being in the club. Nishikan will help your kids not just for self defence, and all the other benefits of growing up to be an all round better adult, and being part of a great club / family.

I have only recently started my karate journey with Nishikan. I'm enjoying every minute, Paul is a great instructor & has made me feel very comfortable. I would highly recommend.
